Bangkok food

It's all about the food! So many delicious things, so little time and stomach space to take it all in.

Our hotel included breakfast, which is a nice feature. I especially enjoyed having fresh fruit as part of my morning routine.

Croissant with pandan custard sauce, thai pudding sauce, marmalade, jam and a pat of butter, rose apple, pineapple and dragon fruit
Pad thai, pork skewers, curry chicken and vegetables and fried fish
Another breakfast plate with charcoal croissant, curry puff, papaya, pineapple and dragon fruit
There was usually something different each day.

Mushroom, carrot and parsnip stew, pork weiner and bacon

Street food is what I came to Bangkok for, and even though I couldn't sample as much as I wanted to, I still delighted in everything I saw.

Dried shrimp! I so wanted to fill my suitcase with it.
How to resist?
I tried to partake in as much street food as possible, including a couple of chicken and pork skewers from this gal.

One walk that A and I took, we saw this lady making what looks like har gow, the shrimp dumplings from dim sum. With my lack of Thai and her lack of English, we couldn't ask what they were, but she was lovely enough to allow me to take her pictures while she made them.

Surprisingly, one of the cheapest but Michelin star rated foods was in a mall! Hawker Chan originated from Singapore, but was set up at Terminal 21. We had to try it of course, and I wasn't disappointed by their soya sauce chicken.

I have to say, I wasn't disappointed by any of the food we had at Terminal 21.

We didn't try anything from here, but it would've been neat to do so.

A and I also went out for street food on our own

One night, we went out for Pad Thai at a place around the corner from the hotel.

which included this delicious starter

but it wasn't the best Pad Thai we had in Bangkok. That was at this little hole in the wall place

This is essentially their kitchen. We're sitting across from them, about 3 ft away.

Our server photobombed the menu

Although there were only 6 items on the menu, they were all delicious!

Chef hard at work.

This one was our favourite. Deep fried noodles rather than the normal style.

A also located a storefront near the hotel, known for their mango sticky rice.

The store is so nice and neat

Getting an order together

Mango sticky rice with coconut cream and mung beans. So simple, yet so delicious.
