Grand Palace and beyond

I didn't get into the Grand Palace, because I'm not one for lining up to see opulence usually, and especially not if it means standing in oppressive heat and having to cover up my shoulders for modesty.  I was happy to take pictures of the exterior and the surrounding government buildings. A and dad went to see it, while R and I walked around instead.

Grand Palace exterior. Too many people for me!

Rooftops are the only things I have a clear view of anyway
So, here are some views of other buildings not inside the Grand Palace.

Cross at your own risk

We decided to walk to Chinatown, which seems like a good idea until you realize it's 34 degrees with humidity high enough to make the city a sauna.

Oh well, there were some pretty sites along the way, like this canal

And we also got to see the opposite of the Grand Palace, the everyday life for the ordinary person.

Electronics row. There were blocks upon blocks all set up like this.
